In the know is a regular roundup of knowledge management (KM) topics of discussion and the articles, events, videos, and podcasts that are grabbing the attention of KM experts across our community.

Digital Preservation Toolkit for Community Archives

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) has announced the launch of the Digital Preservation Toolkit for Community Archives on World Digital Preservation Day, 7 November 2024. The new resource is designed to empower community archives at every stage of their digital preservation journey.

This year’s World Digital Preservation Day theme, ‘Preserving Our Digital Content: Celebrating Communities’, was very fitting for the toolkit’s debut. It’s a day that brings together digital preservation professionals worldwide to celebrate the diversity of the communities which surround and support us, whilst also drawing attention to the unique and valuable digital content which becomes their digital legacy.

With thanks to Gladys Kemboi for alerting us to this announcement.
