Details

Research England launched the first iteration of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) in March 2021.

This allowed universities to better understand and improve their own performance in knowledge exchange, and provide businesses and other users with more information on the knowledge and expertise of universities.

Over the following nine months, Research England conducted a wide-ranging review of the KEF seeking input from the sector and other users.

This report details the process and findings of the KEF review and in particular, it presents evidence of what is working well, and recommendations for improvements for future iterations of the exercise.
