Imagine if, as Carla O'Dell suggests in the quote above, anyone could easily access the most important topical information relevant to our daily lives, interests, and goals. We all used to think that's what the internet would be so good for, but it hasn't worked out that way. Too much information has turned out to be almost as big a problem as too little information.   My firm the Climatographers My wife and I have been exploring how knowledge management (KM) tools can advance our interests and help us accomplish our goals for 30 years. The potential is huge. We've settled on one tool in particular: <a href="http://www.thebrain.com">TheBrain software</a>. What makes TheBrain so great is its ease of use, its flexibility in being adapted to different needs, and its ability to manage virtually infinite information. Our personal External Brains hold all of our past work, all of our key documents and photos, and MUCH more. When I say that if something were to happen to my External Brain, retirement or hara kiri would be my only options, I'm not really kidding. That's how valuable our External Brains have become to us. But External Brains can be used for much more than organizing personal information. TheBrain software is used in companies of all sizes and in governmental agencies that have complicated KM needs such as the U.S. Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency. We've been building one External Brain, the Climate Web, for more than 10 years. Today, it's the closest thing to a collective climate change intelligence that exists.  But we've also been building simpler External Brains that save almost anyone time in exploring topics in which they are interested. That is what this Patreon Project is about. Many of our External Brains are open access and available to anyone online. However, knowing exactly what we're doing with them, and being able to download them to your desktop, laptop, or mobile device, is a huge advantage over online access. That's what this Patreon project is all about. You can even use the FREE version of TheBrain software. Currently, we have 4 External Brains as well as the Climate Web to which you can gain special access through our Patreon Project: 1. Our COVID-19 External Brain, which organizes the best resources we're finding day to day. There are a lot of great resources out there.  2. Our Type II Diabetes External Brain, which organizes resources you wish you had time to search for if you've been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes. When I was diagnosed many years ago, I had a lot of trouble finding that information (again, the problem isn't a shortage of information, it's information overload).  3. stories, videos, and websites into an amazing knowledge web.
