Evolution: Slow process of change from one form or level to a better or higher one, or that brings into being a superior or new order. Evolution does not occur in a straight, steady progression but is marked by false starts and dead ends, random leaps in different directions, and long periods of no fruitful activity. By far the most dominant evolutionary phenomenon is the preservation of whatever is working well. Business Dictionary Transformation: A process of profound and radical change that orients an organization in a new direction and takes it to an entirely different level of effectiveness. Transformation implies a basic change of character and little or no resemblance with the past configuration or structure. Which journey will best build creativity and innovation in an ecosystem? #learning #creativity

Over the last two months Melbourne's Knowledge Management Leadership Forum has explored the hot topic of Generative AI. First Luke Farley facilitated a conversation in understanding Gen AI, tracing it's progression from machine learning into LLMs and looking at a few interesting Gen AI toys/tools. This was followed by a session on the Ethics of Gen AI, where we discussed a few well know instances of questionable Gen AI use, some of the inherent 'flaws in the machine' and looked at a few practical AI Governance approaches. April will be our third and last session in our Gen AI exploration, where Sarah Jacobson, Helen Palmer, Geoffrey Cooper and Geri Overberg will present Australian Gen AI use cases. Hit the link to join us 😊 #KMLF #GenAI #Knowledgemanagement

"..investor case for AI is “companies will buy our products so they can do more with less.” It’s not “business customers will buy our products so their products will cost more to make, but will be of higher quality.”

'Rewrite with AI" Generative AI can be an incredibly helpful tool we can leverage to enhance the way we work, particularly when undertaking desktop research. However! There are a few additional skills we will need to include in our AI Space. 1. Critical Thinking - now more than ever this is a critical skill and discipline that needs to be applied when using Gen AI. E.g. I tested using MS's Co-pilot and the most of it's results were driven by sources who have paid to be top-of-the-CoPilot-Pops results. 2. Sense-checking - GenAI has been known to hallucinate and produce beautifully polished bullsh1t. It's important that we have the knowledge and wisdom to check the results for accuracy. 3. Piloting your GenAI - yes, we are the pilots and we need learn how to deftly prompt and interrogate our GenAI. It's a skill to master. For GenAI to be useful it needs to trained, by us, to produce the results we need and want. AI Piloting Principle: Maintain a Divergent mindset, to use a tool producing Convergent output. #generativeai #knowledgemanagement

Asking powerful and/or impactful questions can be incredibly enabling. For example: rather than "Should staff return to the office?" A powerful question is "What conditions do staff need to thrive?"

Amongst the current job applications milieu, we need to have the Space to reflect on and discuss the layers of bias. These can be inherent of an organisations behaviours and ways of working. They can reflect unconscious bias of interview panels and hiring managers, particularly when a panel consists entirely of a singular ethnic demographic. The challenge is that cultural biases are hard to prove, other than a POC experience as a candidate. Interested in folks thoughts...

The parallels between dating and applying for jobs are eerily similar... * This is me bio 👋 / the cover letter! Note: both are subjective and valued in the 👁🗨 of the beholder * don't use a pic posing with an animal, of any sort * that sensation of dread-optimism * the urge to print a 👕 saying "It's okay! I'm really good at what I do🙃" In essence both spaces are about the desire to be desired, wanted and valued. Take comfort in knowing that you are enough and a really cool peep who will find 'that' match.

6yNow this is an excellent question. But is it really binary? Do you get to transformation via evolution?
