CHICAGO — The victim of a fatal stabbing in Chicago’s River North neighborhood has been identified.

Mike Beedle, 55, was the CEO of the management consulting company Enterprise Scrum.

Beedle was originally from Mexico and was engaged to his fiancee, Barbara Misiur, and had six children.

Beedle was spotted walking out of an alley near State and Kinzie last Friday around 2:30 a.m. He was stabbed in the neck and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officials said survellience video has given them a timeline of the crime and a suspect. Police said they are investigating whether a homeless person stabbed him during a robbery attempt.

A GoFundMe has been set up to raise money for the Beedle’s family.

His fiancee released the following statement:

Mike was our whole world, he was the best father to our three girls. He always took good care of our family, and we were looking forward to spending our lives together. We wanted to move to Poland where I come from, because we realized Chicago is a very dangerous city. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it out on time, however I will still work hard towards this dream. Someone’s cruelty took away the love of my life, and the father of our three amazing girls.

His friends and family said Beedle was likely doing some training in the area then went out for a drink.

No arrests have been made.
