In the current Special Issue, we are featuring two poems. The first of these, Our knowledge, has been written by the poet, Keamogetsi joseph Molapong. The poem reflects on stolen and indigenous knowledges, echoing the theme of the whole issue. Keamogetsi Joseph Molapong, a prolific Namibian poet since 1990, co-founding the Windhoek poetry groups Ama Poets (1992) and Kitso Poets (1996). He contributed to significant anthologies like 'We opened the door and saw ourselves' (New Namibia Books, 1998) and 'Poetically Speaking' (Gamsberg Macmillan Publishers, 2000). His Township Productions organized various poetry events and festivals. His global presence included the 11th Poetry Afrika Festival (2007) in Durban and the Poesie Berlin Festival (2009) in Germany. He nurtured emerging poets, co-edited impactful works like 'In search of Questions,' and established the annual World Poetry Month in Namibia. Recent works, 'A poem to the president: a poem in 50 parts' (2020/22) and 'When words are few' (2020), continue his poetic legacy. He's also delved into pressing issues, such as gender-based violence in 'The heartbeat of pain' (2022). Molapong's enduring commitment to poetry remains influential.
