ISO 30401 Certification Authority

I am writing to support Patricia Eng’s recent post regarding ISO 30401 certification authority. I was the chair of ISO Technical Committee 260 (TC) - Human Resource Management and a member of the TC's working group that developed ISO 30401. Prior to retiring from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), I was their Vice President and Chief Standards Officer. The authority to certify people as 30401 auditors and organizations for the conformance to the requirements of 30401 resided with UTMB, which they transferred to me upon my retirement. I took that authority with me when I was working with ICEE, which means that the authority that ICEE had to certify both individuals and organizations was mine, not ICEE’s since I was never an employee of that organization, simply a collaborator. I retained this authority when I severed my relationship with ICEE and am now employing it in my collaboration with Patricia Eng. As she said in her post, we shall be working together to train and certify individuals as 30401 auditors and organizations with regard to their conformance with the standard’s requirement.

Congratulations Ron and Patricia. The International Center for Enterprise Engagement at http://TheICEE.org and its outreach arm at http://EnterpriseEngagement.org are dedicated to helping organizations and individuals who achieve ISO people management certifications from people like Ron generate a benefit. There is no official body of any kind authorizing anyone to conduct ISO human capital certifications in the US. Achieving a certification is no more than a plaque on the wall without a means of sharing expertise with potential customers and developing a distribution network. #Knowledgemanagement is probably one of the least understand elements of human capital management. We look forward to elevating the profile of this important field. Because Dr. McKinley and Patricia Eng are qualified certifiers, as is Santhosh Shekar, who received his certification from Ron, anyone who receives a certification from them with at least seven years verified experience will be qualified for ICEE's certification, which is focused on helping people receive an ROI from their investment. Since ICEE is arms-length from any of the certifiers, and has a worldwide audience, we are a valuable ally to people seeking to promote this little known field.
