This article is part of the Because You Need to Know series.

Pioneer Knowledge Services was founded by Edwin K. Morris as a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation with a charitable knowledge management (KM) purpose. With knowledge being an organization’s most valuable asset, the goal of Pioneer Knowledge Services was to create cultures that support information development, knowledge transfer, knowledge handling, and, eventually, rapid access to knowledge to facilitate decision making.

From 2015 to 2025, when Pioneer Knowledge Services closed, knowledge communications leader Edwin K. Morris hosted and produced the Because You Need to Know podcast, featuring interesting interviews with non-profit leaders and knowledge management (KM) professionals.

RealKM Magazine helped to communicate the Because You Need to Know podcasts, and is now very honoured to be able to present the full Because You Need to Know podcast archive, including the KM Lobby Incredible Edition which also featured co-hosts Ginetta Gueli and Monica Danese-Perrin. RealKM Cooperative Limited currently holds the Because You Need to Know trademark.
