GO-TKM Think Tank Subgroups announced!

We – The Global Think-Tank for Organizational Tacit Knowledge Management (GO-TKM) – are pleased to announce that the GO-TKM Think Tank Subgroups have now been established. Four out of the five subgroups already have appointed leaders, whose names are listed below. These Think Tanks are at the very heart of our mission: they serve as collaborative spaces for rigorous reflection and in-depth research on how tacit knowledge is – or is not – transferred across diverse fields and industries.

By contributing to a Think Tank, you are not only participating in the intellectual development of our organization but also taking part in a broader movement aimed at shaping a more sustainable and knowledge-driven future. Your involvement will support our commitment to meaningful impact aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and ensure that we remain true to our raison d’être: fostering the responsible transmission of tacit knowledge across generations.

While some of you may be personally invited by subgroup leaders based on your area of expertise, we would also like to offer you the opportunity to express your interest in the Think Tank Subgroup that resonates most with your competencies, professional affinity, and, of course, tacit knowledge. To express interest, you can comment on our LinkedIn post.

Below, you will find a list of the five thematic subgroups. Please note that TT5 – Tacit Knowledge in Healthcare is still in search of two co-leaders. If you, or someone in your network, would be an ideal fit – particularly professionals such as physicians, clinic managers, or KM leaders in healthcare – we would be grateful for your recommendations.

  1. (TT1) Impact of Tacit Knowledge on Organizational Performance: Investigate how tacit knowledge management strategies influence organizational performance, both tangibly and intangibly – Co-leaders: Prof. Valmohammadi and Prof. Patrick Fong.
  2. (TT2) Tacit Knowledge in Cross-Cultural Teams: Explore how tacit knowledge is shared and utilized in multicultural teams, and the challenges and benefits that arise – Mr Bruce Boyes.
  3. (TT3) Technological Tools for Tacit Knowledge Management: Examine the role of emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, in capturing and managing tacit knowledge – Prof. Wernher Friedrich.
  4. (TT4) Tacit Knowledge and Innovation: Study the relationship between tacit knowledge and innovation within organizations, and how tacit knowledge can drive creative processes – Dr Rachad Najjar and Ms Kristina Mirchuk.
  5. (TT5) Tacit Knowledge in Healthcare: Investigate how tacit knowledge is used in healthcare settings, particularly in decision-making and patient care – We are still looking for two co-leads,, one from the clinic environment and one from the pharmaceutical industry.
