Follow Lebo’s passionate journey of transforming knowledge management in South African municipalities. Where records management is strictly regulated, knowledge management remains overlooked. Through brown bag sessions and a SharePoint knowledge portal, Lebo’s Director has been strategically increasing organizational interest and awareness in KM. By introducing Microsoft Power test days, leveraging MS apps, YouTube, and Google Digital Garage for learning from business process mapping to project management, and coordinating communities of practice, their team is on the path to assist other KM professionals and elevate knowledge management from a passive unit to an active learning academy. Spanning collaborations from The National Treasury to The South African Local Government Association, they’ve introduced KM to senior managers and opened people’s eyes to the power of knowledge sharing.
