Knowledge-related challenges are especially topical at present with the Australian Royal Commission touching data security in the financial sector, international banks “losing” data tapes, the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica saga, knowledge networks and social media tools implicated in political influence and the pending impacts of the EU Data Protection Requirements (EDPR).
I am sure that a more connected knowledge profession will balance this with more positive stories about why KM is such a significant interdependent discipline.
AuSKM is excited to announce that we will be hosting the annual face to face gathering of the country leaders of the Global Knowledge Management Network (KMGN) in Melbourne in Knovember! KMGN formed through the desire of passionate KMers across 9 countries so that we are part of a collaborative Knowledge Profession, which is continuing to grow. AuSKM (our national KM professional body formed to represent all the local KM communities) is a founding member of the KMGN.
As part of this event, AuSKM will leverage the international talent to add depth and scope to our second AuSKM conference in Melbourne. Last year the event (then referred to as #KMELB) went very well and we are expanding it to grow the awareness of the profession, especially with the pending release of the ISO 30401 KM standard.
Set your calendars now for #AuSKM2018 – 12th to the 14th Knovember.
More to come soon!
